Target One Airline

At least for now, I think that we should target ONE specific airline to come to Worcester. Once that airline either decides to come, shows their lack of interest, or they go out of business, another airline can be persued. If one of these three don't happen in 4-5 mos than that airline could go "back into the pool."

The carrier that I think would be the best bet for now is Hooters Air. ORH would fit perfectly in their system and would have vertually no competition to Myrtle Beach and/or St. Pete's.

If anyone agrees please leave a comment saying that you agree, and if anyone disagrees please leave a comment suggesting only one airline that you think is the most important to target for ORH. If you firmly believe ORH should be closed tomorrow this isn't the time for you to comment.

2006 is the Year

2006 is when the future of the Worcester Regional Airport will be decided. The city, state, and federal governments just simply can not continue to flush $2,000,000 down the drain annually.

What has to happen?

  • Allegiant Air must continue to be successful and be discussing about or planning additional serivce to Orlando or other Florida destinations.
  • At least one additional airline is recruited. Hooters Air seems to be the best candidate.
  • All airline service is reliable.
  • A sit-down food vendor is located in the terminal.
  • Wi-fi is offered ar NO CHARGE.

If the airport loses all airline service again, the airport will no longer have a chance to succeed. If any of these has to happen it is most certainly landing more airline service: You can't have a successful commercial airport with one small commercial airline.
